The Hellish Tribune – Staff Directory
A classified overview of Tribune personnel, departments, and their ominous affiliations.
Geryon
Role: Editor-in-Chief
Archdevil, Lord of the Fifth – Oversees all content. Final authority on forbidden truths.
Current Directives: “Monitor Belial. Track The Chosen. The seals are cracking.”
Geryon oversees all content with cold precision and theological disdain. His decisions are final, and his edits cut deeper than blades.
A three-headed Archdevil with the patience of an ice shelf and the wrath of a dying star. Geryon speaks in overlapping tongues, edits with talons, and once removed a writer’s memory for ending a sentence in a preposition. His soul is triple-threaded across realms, and he can redact truth from history itself. He claims neutrality, but his eyes betray ancient allegiances. Staff whisper that he bleeds ink.
Lenora Vale
Role: Executive Assistant & Legal Oversight; Bureau Chief, Apocalyptic Affairs
Former government analyst. Handles interdimensional logistics and apocalypse forecasting. Files cease-and-desist orders in blood. Handles negotiations with infernal censors and divine legal challenges. Only person Geryon listens to without growling.
Unflappable. Speaks like classified documents redacted themselves out of respect. Her previous life in mortal intelligence is still classified. Lenora manages apocalypse compliance forms, edits curses into non-binding contracts, and schedules meetings between demons and disgraced angels. Geryon listens to her. Everyone else obeys her.
Public Relations & Outreach – Under Lenora Vale
- Derry Nox — Complaint Liaison
Derry answers letters from readers with charm, sarcasm, or veiled threats. Each reply is signed in ash. Keeps a ledger of curses sent via mail.
- Feyra Silk — Event Summoner
Feyra plans staff banquets and press conferences—usually held during blood moons or eclipses. She’s bubbly, which is terrifying. Decorates with enchanted spider silk.
- Trask Mutter — Brand Whisperer
Trask knows how to shape public opinion with a single headline. No one knows where he came from, and no one remembers hiring him. Appears in dreams pitching ideas.
Elias Vexmoor
Role: Department Head – Occult Research
Occult scholar and excommunicated linguist. Oversees forbidden translation units. Oversees field correspondents and artifact recovery. Obsessed with truth through translation. Keeps cursed artifacts in his office “for morale.”
Equal parts scholar and heretic, Elias is fluent in 37 dead languages—19 of which tried to kill him. His office walls are lined with living books, some of which whisper about the time he stole a vowel from the True Name of God. His obsession with unearthing “impossible knowledge” is only rivaled by his disdain for coffee breaks.
Editorial Department – Under Elias Vexmoor
- Marnie Cratch — Copy Goblin
With beady eyes and ink-stained fingers, Marnie rarely speaks above a whisper. Her job is to proofread every cursed syllable that goes to print. Rumor has it her red pen is forged from bone. Corrects grammar even in demonic contracts.
- Lenrik “Smudge” Hollow — Style Compliance Officer
A ghoul with a taste for syntax, Lenrik ensures the house style is maintained, no matter the cost. He once exorcised a semicolon from a sentence with holy salt. Claims to have edited the first draft of the Necronomicon.
- Tilda Wax — Layout Coordinator
Pale, twitchy, and possibly undead, Tilda arranges headlines and images with obsessive precision. She hasn’t left the design room in five years. Places subliminal runes in the fine print.
Corwin Dredge
Role: Senior Field Agent
Liminal investigator and theological field agent. Exorcist and artifact recovery specialist. Operates solo. Deeply paranoid. Regularly threatens to exorcise the coffee machine. If someone goes rogue or tries to summon something in the break room, Corwin gets called.
A trench-coated doom-magnet with crucifixes in every pocket and a shotgun blessed by three religions. Corwin investigates cults, haunted relics, and unauthorized summoning rituals. He believes the printer is possessed (it might be) and once exorcised a vending machine. He doesn’t trust anyone—including himself.
Sybil Thorne
Role: Archivist & Lost Truth Editor
Guardian of forbidden texts. Specialist in sentient documents and reverse prophecy. Blackout editor for unprintable truth. Often redacts herself into documents. Coordinates retrieval of “alive documents” and trans-dimensional files. She’s not technically alive herself anymore, either.
Part librarian, part revenant, all enigma. Sybil rarely speaks above a whisper and wears black gloves to hide the glyphs carved into her palms. She maintains the Tribune’s vault of forbidden documents, many of which read themselves aloud when left unattended. Her pen bleeds red ink—and sometimes, not ink at all.
Research & Archives – Under Sybil Thorne
- Alba Mire — Cryptic Indexer
Alba files forbidden knowledge with a quiet reverence. She hums ancient hymns as she works and wears gloves made of silence. Her shadow is often seen reading ahead of her.
- Kip Fenn — Fact Retriever
Kip has memorized over 10,000 arcane facts. Unfortunately, 400 of them may not be real. He’s constantly in argument with the archives. Talks to books like old friends.
- Sloane Weft — Tome Repair Specialist
Stitching together cursed manuscripts and whispering them back to life, Sloane is a master of literary necromancy. Her stitches appear on her own skin at night.
Marrow Blackwood
Role: Head of Paranormal Affairs
Paranormal operations and ghost informant networks. Prefers whispers over facts. Controls the Tribune’s network of whisper brokers and ghost informants. Keeps a necrotic filing cabinet that screams when you open it.
Operates in whispers and shadows. Marrow has a surgically precise intellect and a whisper network of ghosts who owe him favors. He doesn’t file reports—he delivers warnings. His voice is barely audible on recordings, yet appears clearly in the transcripts. His office smells faintly of grave moss and truth.
Art & Design Department – Under Marrow Blackwood
- Thorn Dabble — Sigil Illustrator
A shapeshifting imp who paints with shadows, Thorn designs the cursed visuals that cause minor hallucinations. Draws best under moonlight.
- Greta Wretch — Typography Enchanter
Greta creates fonts that whisper to the reader. Each curve and serif is embedded with subtle madness. Her handwriting once induced a coma.
- Zeek Blotter — Ink Technician
A half-demon press gremlin responsible for mixing ink with sulfur and char. He’s perpetually smudged and smells faintly of brimstone. Eats paper when stressed.
Ilsa Crowhaven
Role: Veil Watch Reporter
Tracks veil fluctuations, mirror anomalies, and nocturnal disturbances. Direct conduit to unstable dimensional leaks. Writes in verse. Never removes gloves.
Poet of the apocalypse. Ilsa writes in sigils and rhyming hexes. She sees veiled fractures in reality like most see storm clouds. Her notes are sealed in jars of salted air. Never removes her gloves—her touch has been known to summon “watchers.” Her favorite drink is moonlight steeped in melancholy.
Jasper Nocturne
Role: Surveillance Technician
Correspondent for Realms Unknown. Uses remote scry-tech and infernal drones. Remotely embeds through mirror tech and eldritch signal triangulation. Has not been physically present in 3 years.
Nobody’s seen Jasper in person for years. He exists through drone feeds, cursed mirrors, and scrying lenses. He sends in his reports encoded in static-laced video files accompanied by blood-red timestamps. Has a calming voice that contradicts the horrific imagery he often captures. Might not have a body anymore.
Investigative Department – Under Jasper Nocturne
- Mortimer Vell — Junior Truth Excavator
Mortimer follows leads so obscure they may not even exist. He writes notes in his own blood and claims it’s more efficient. Keeps files in jars instead of folders.
- Cassia Gloom — Paranormal Interview Transcriber
Blind in one eye and fluent in dead tongues, Cassia captures interviews with ghosts, demons, and other uncooperative sources. Only types when thunder strikes.
- Nix Rasper — Audio Forensics Analyst
Nix can extract whispers from silence and decode screams from background static. His ears are cursed to never stop hearing. Wears headphones even when unplugged.
Vesper Holloway
Role: Obituary & Transcendence Editor
Writes pre-death obituaries. Dreams in reverse. Elegant, eerie, accurate. Often “accidentally” uncovers hidden runes in interview transcripts. Speaks backwards in dreams. Handles final write-ups for the “Departed Who Don’t Depart.” Often assigned to write obituaries before death officially occurs.
Elegant, sorrowful, meticulous. Vesper writes death notices for those who haven’t died yet. She once dreamed a murder before it happened and correctly guessed the name of the killer. Her prose makes the dead cry. She was once married to Thaddeus Gloom, which neither confirms nor denies her clairvoyance.
Thaddeus Gloom
Role: Senior Writer – Echoes of the Damned
Haunting chronicler of spiritual fallout. Former priest. Possibly undead. Handles obituaries for spectral clients, revenants, and cursed populations. His desk bleeds when touched.
A former priest turned postmortem chronicler. His reports often smell of wax and incense. Thaddeus weeps ink, drinks sacramental wine recreationally, and never turns off his desk lamp. He might be undead—or worse, forgotten. His articles have been known to follow readers home.
Bram Fenwright
Role: Shadow Leaks Contributor
Leaker of demonic memos and Tribunal secrets. Constantly in hiding. Loosely affiliated. Occasionally files leaked memos from Hell’s upper bureaucracy. No one knows how he gets them.
Always hiding. Sends in handwritten leaks on singed parchment. Bram has access to documents even Geryon can’t source. Paranoid, brilliant, possibly cursed. Suspects everyone is working for someone else—especially himself. His motto: “If you found this, they already know.”
